La cita se realiz\u00f3 en el Sal\u00f3n Protocolario del Palacio de Carondelet, a las 22:00 horas de este mi\u00e9rcoles 6 de agosto.<\/p>\n<p>Merton naci\u00f3 en Nueva York hace 70 a\u00f1os. En 1997 gan\u00f3 junto a Myron Scholes, el Premio Nobel de Econom\u00eda por el trabajo para calcular el precio de las opciones financieras.<\/p>\n<p>Tiene un P.h.D en Econom\u00eda que lo obtuvo en el Massachussets Institute of Tecnology.<\/p>\n<p>Entre sus investigaciones se destaca \u201cEl dilema que afecta a los inversores: c\u00f3mo distribuir los ingresos entre consumo e inversiones en acciones y bonos, respectivamente, para maximizar la rentabilidad de estos ingresos\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>En el encuentro tambi\u00e9n participaron Patricio Rivera, ministro coordinador de la Pol\u00edtica Econ\u00f3mica; Diego Mart\u00ednez, presidente del Banco Central del Ecuador, y Fausto Herrera, ministro de Finanzas.
